Step by step
- Free in-home consultation and measure: I measure every opening and we talk through frames, glass and grids.
- Written proposal: materials, options, timeline and a fixed price.
- Ordering: replacement windows are made to your measurements, so there is a wait while they are built. I give you the expected timing when you order.
- Permits: where your city or the windstorm rules require it, the permit and inspection are part of the plan. League City and most of Pearland are in the state’s windstorm area.
- Install day: we typically install 10 to 15 or more windows a day. Old units come out, openings are checked for rot, and new windows are set, sealed and trimmed.
- Final walkthrough: we open, close and lock every window together.
What affects how long the install takes
- Number of windows and how big they are
- Insert or full-frame: inserts go into the existing frame and are quicker, while full-frame replacement takes the opening down to the studs. See full-frame vs insert replacement.
- Rot or water damage found once the old window is out
- Second-story windows and how easy the openings are to reach
- Weather: heavy rain can push the start
Do I need to be home?
No. As long as we have access to the house and every window inside, you don’t need to be there. We confirm the window list with you before install day, and you’re welcome to be home and walk the finished job with me if you choose.
How to get ready
- Take down blinds, curtains and rods, or let us know beforehand if you’d like help
- Move furniture and breakables a few feet back from each window
- Keep pets in a separate room or out of the house
- Clear a path to windows on the outside, like patio furniture and planters
When the job is done, we clean up and haul away the old windows.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does window replacement take?
There is a wait while the windows are made to fit your openings, then the install itself. Built by Revitalize typically installs 10 to 15 or more windows a day, so many homes are done in a day or two. Install time depends on the number of windows, insert vs full-frame installation and any rot repair. Built by Revitalize puts the schedule in the written proposal.
Do I need to be home for window replacement?
No. As long as there is access to the house and every window inside, the homeowner doesn’t need to be home. You’re welcome to be there if you choose.
How do I prepare for window installation?
Take down blinds and curtains, move furniture back from the windows, keep pets in a separate room and clear the outside of each window.
Do replacement windows need a permit?
It depends on the city. In the windstorm area, which includes League City and most of Pearland, windows generally need approved products and a windstorm inspection. Built by Revitalize confirms the requirements for your address.
