South of Houston, metal roofs face salt air, humidity and long summers. Near the water I pay extra attention to finishes, fasteners and flashing. In Galveston County and on the Brazoria County side of Pearland, a roof replacement is in the designated windstorm area, so the system has to be an approved product installed to the windstorm code and inspected for a WPI-8, and I plan the job around that. What affects the cost of a metal roof

A metal roof is priced after I measure it. What moves the number: the roof’s size and pitch, how many hips, valleys, dormers and penetrations it has, the panel and finish you choose, tear-off of the old roof and any decking repairs, and the trim and flashing details around walls and chimneys.
